Being a Servant

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Matthew 20:28 NIV

My devotion today reminded me about having a desire to serve others and how Jesus came to serve and give HIS LIFE for us. I have a desire to serve others, but this can often get me in trouble as my husband has reminded me a few times that you cannot save everyone. It is good to have the heart to serve but we must also remember that we cannot overextend ourselves to do it. I would love to provide so many samples of products to others, donate to numerous charities, help others in money troubles, promote others' businesses, and so much more. Yes, my heart can often get in the way of my mind.

This devotion encouraged me more than I could imagine and reminded me that we should praise, JESUS every chance we get. HE has brought us out the darkness and now we are in the light, with everything that is happening in the present world, we have to choose, how we will react or respond. We should seek out each day to see how we can serve or help one another. Often we get stuck in it is all about me and that I should not worry about others. One thing that I have seen during this time of the "New Normal" is the decrease of selfishness and the increase in the desire to serve others.

We must have the same heart to serve as JESUS and always remember the sacrifice that HE made for us.
